Man beaten up outside cinema for shouting out Avengers: Endgame spoilers

A man has been pictured tending to his wounds after allegedly being beaten up for shouting out spoilers to the new Marvel film Avengers: Endgame.
The superhero blockbuster came out to massive fanfare last Thursday, and moviegoers are pretty unanimous in their praise for the film.
But those who haven’t yet seen it are unanimous in their insistence that nobody spoil anything from the movie that rounds off the most ambitious movie project in cinema history.

Deadline reports, however, that one man carried out the cardinal sin of spoiling the movie, and not only that, did so whilst lining up to see Avengers: Endgame.

The incident occurred at a cinema in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, and the man did not escape without retribution. Pictures circulated on local media of the man tending to his wounds after he stood in line taunting people lining up to see the film with details of the plot.

Reportedly left “beaten and bloodied” on the side of the road as he waited for medical treatment, it remains to be seen if this was a prank and the man wasn’t shouting out real spoilers, or if it was a cynical move on the man’s part.

Spoilers for Avengers: Endgame are a hot topic, with the directors of the film, Russo Brothers penning a statement to say to everyone: don’t post spoilers.

“To the greatest fans in the world, this is it. This is the end. The end of an unprecedented narrative mosaic spanning eleven years and eleven franchises. When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you. Remember, Thanos still demands your silence. As always, good luck and happy viewing.”

Avengers: Endgame has already broken the global box office record – already making $644 million in what’s the biggest cinema opening in movie history.
